On 3rd and 4th November 2017 the annual Bock Beer Festival will be held at the Grote Kerk (the Great Church) in Alkmaar. A beer festival in a church you say? Yes! The Grote Kerk no longer houses a religious congregation and instead is used more like a community hall; hosting many different festivals and events.
But back to the beer.
Up to 40 different types of autumn bock beer will be available to try. If you are interested in beer or just plain like beer, then this is a pretty cool gig. There aren’t many chances to have a few beers in such a historic building! There will also be live entertainment and nibbles offered by local restaurants.
The Vriendenbockfestival is happening this weekend on Friday and Saturday the 3rd & 4th November from 16:00 – 23:00. Tickets cost €20 and are available on the Vriendenbock website. You receive a beer glass, beer tokens and you will also help to support the Grote Kerk. It is a win – win for everyone!
Cheers!
