Hi!  I'm Jennifer...a Canadian living in Alkmaar since 2015.  I love living in the Netherlands, and in Alkmaar!  Alkmaar is a wonderful medieval city full of history, beautiful old buildings, scenic canals and fantastic artisan shops; all within an easily walkable area and only 35 mins by direct train from Amsterdam.  And the area around Alkmaar is equally as beautiful with wonderful countryside and stunning spring tulip fields all of which are all easily accessible by bike.
